Signed into law July 26, 1990, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) ensures that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as those without disabilities.
As members of the “ADA Generation,” we have benefited from growing up with the ADA as law. While it’s still not without its challenges, using manual wheelchairs has generally not hindered our ability to live our lives as active members of the community.
On July 26, 2021, in recognition of the ADA turning 31, the U.S. Department of the Interior published Access to Adventure, a blog that Photos with a Spin is featured in! In this blog, we share some of our favorite public lands, how we plan trips, and what we hope to see in the future in regards to wheelchair accessibility and exploring the great outdoors!
Until next time!
